Washout Impacts Amtrak Track

by KREX News Room
by Associated Press

DENVER- Amtrak train service will soon be restored, after a track washed out in the Colorado mountains.

Officials say Tuesday's washout near Glenwood Springs caused one train in each direction to be rerouted through Wyoming.

An Amtrak spokesman says the company is providing alternate transportation for passengers to get to their stops and that regular service would resume Thursday.

The California Zephyr passenger train runs daily between the San Francisco area and Chicago.

It's not Amtraks track. It belongs to Union Pacific and Amtrak gets to use it. Lets not forget that UP is shut down as well as Amtrak.Lousy reporting.
