PARACHUTE, Colo. - WPX Energy, Colorado's largest natural gas producer, plans to increase its local spending in 2013.

Last year, WPX spent about $325 million to drill more than 200 new natural gas wells in Colorado.

This year, the company plans to spend $340 - $380 million on the Western Slope.

The company's plan calls for drilling in some of the deeper, natural gas reserves that it discovered late last year.

WPX employs 425 people in Colorado who operate more than 4,000 gas wells.

First to anonymous: "More"? And I did not know oil and gas could wreck. Further, it is not I70. It is I-70 or Interstate 70. If by higher taxes you mean you want to get higher, more regulations won't work for you. Regulations work against your freedom and your will to be "higher".
