WPX Energy Meets With Public

by KREX News Room

PARACHUTE, Colo.- WPX Energy continues to get out and about in Western Colorado, to help educate people about their company and how the surface agreement process works when it comes to drilling for oil and gas.

Thursday, WPX Energy met with the Rifle Chamber of Commerce to educate them on their surface area agreement, which they have with land owners of drilling sites.

The energy company says it's important to help others understand what they do, and how they make drilling agreements.

"The more people we can educate, the more people understand our business, and the more people understand how we do our business, and I think more people will be in favor of the oil and gas industry," said Bryan Hotard, field land team leader.

WPX Energy officials say they're the largest natural gas producer in the State of Colorado.

They provide enough energy for three million homes, and operate 4,100 wells.

Why in the hell would they try to educate a community that has already been poisoned and has a mass action lawsuit in place. Stupid story.
