Voters Have Third Option for Congressional District Three Election

by KREX News Room
by Amanda Brandeis

DENVER, Colo. The race for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District is a three-person battle.

Running against Republican incumbent Scott Tipton are Sal Pace, D-Pueblo, and Tisha Casida, an Independent candidate.

NewsChannel 5 spoke with Casida to learn more about her campaign. One thing she said was, "I feel like there is a lot of federal bureaucracy and red tape squeezing the life out of small businesses. I want to do something positive and proactive, and help educate and empower our community about solutions we can engage in to boost our economy."

She also said she believes the economy is probably the biggest resounding issue for most voters and that it can affect people in different ways.

She said her campaign will also be "focusing on economic warfare, economic terrorism and the soundness of our currency. These are the things that can erode the wealth of all Americans ... we are also focusing on what to do at a federal level to make sure our monetary policy is sustainable."

Casida is on the campaign trail and said she should be back on the Western Slope in the next couple of weeks.

At last! We have a real choice. Just when the GOP thinks they can kill off the TeaParty we see an Independent Conservative for them to stand behind if they choose to, and why wouldn't they? The Party Elites from both parties will go nuts trying to take her out and they will be brutal doing it. In the big fight for the women's vote the parties are going to have a problem if they go on the attack like the usually do with anyone outside their ranks. It looks like a real interesting summer coming up.

Well, so far she doesn't show any signs of weak moral values and public exhibitions such as the democrat candidate, and I have serious doubts that she will vote half the time with the democrats and half the time with the RINOS. Probably be an excellent choice for those who believe in smaller, more RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE government. From a STRICTLY TEA PARTY, non-wsca, position she has my support and vote. Tipton is almost as conservative as Stalin was..

Go Tisha! You already have the GOP and WSCA worried, now just get out there and continue to stand up for conservatism and kick their butts.

Check out this candidate’s website Casida2012. She is a breath of fresh air, away from the insanity of partisan politics. She’s not just an alternative. She is what we’ve been asking for. Finally, a candidate who recognizes that the will of the people should come before the will of the party. I AM IMPRESSED, for the first time in over 35 years of trying to find someone that I could vote for instead of against. Take a minute to visit her website and I’ll just bet we’ll be reading your comments right here with mine. What a welcome surprise.

I have personally talked to Tisha and she is the REAL DEAL !! I put her right up there with Ron Paul and Ross Perot She is sincere and actually has read and understands the Constitution. She is just what we need to challenge the 2 major parties. GO TISHA.

I've met Tisha and she believes in the same things that Ron Paul does. That's good enough for me. I expect her to pull many Young people's votes out of the colleges as well as mainstream voters. Having trouble with the TEAM PLAYERS of both parties? Vote for liberty. Vote for freedom. Vote for Tisha Casida. I know I am. I'm sick and tired of the RINO lush Congressman we now have in office. He's voted to take away our 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights, along with his RINO buddies, and the Obama Democrats. Last chance to vote for American Freedom. Vote for Tisha Casida. She's an Independent, and owes nothing to the TWIN local parties!

So... the GOP has a "war on Women" that they are trying to run away from and declare it doesn't exist? Will they attack her on her positions? They can't because HER PLATFORM is what the party platform SHOULD BE..... Attack her inexperience? they didn't attack obama.. or Tipton either for that matter. The only experience Tipton has is running a pot shop and pandering to the republican elite..

Every election year both political parties start selling their lesser of two evils imperative and candidates. We can’t let the Dems/Repubs win and the people are sick of it. But this election we have a choice. We can vote for Tisha Casida. The Republicans don’t win and the Democrats don’t win but the people do. Who knows, maybe this will start a trend and the people will start winning every election. Now really, wouldn’t that be the lesser of the two evils? I’m sold.
