Veterans Day Freebies

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-All active and retired servicemen and women can enjoy free food all weekend from Outback Steakhouse.

On Sunday, veterans can get free food from Applebee's, Chili's, Hooters, Texas Roadhouse and Olive Garden.

Golden Corral will also be offering a free meal for veterans from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday.

Both Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement are offering a 10 percent discount this weekend. At Sam's Club, veterans can pick up a free Hugo walking cane.

Supercuts will be offering free haircuts on Sunday for all active duty personnel and veterans from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service are waiving entrance and usage fees at most of their day-use recreation sites Nov. 10-12.

My husband is a Vet and NOT ONE WORD was said to him....oh yeah, he works at LOWES!!! No recognition of ANY kind!! So don't go thanking that store!! Also, if you do your math, 10% discount is given EVERYDAY to customers. When you go to pay for your items, the 10% is about equal to the tax charged. So there really is no real savings! Go on eBay and your can buy a book of coupons giving you 10% off. It's a slap in the face. Let me add, LOWES gives their employees NO bonus for Thanksgiving or Christmas. NONE, ZERO, ZILCH!!!

This could never be enough to what we owe them.At least there are some businesses that can show some apprecciation for what these men and women do for us, so thank-you to them businesses and a BIG THANK-YOU to our servicemen and women.
