Vail Global Energy Forum a Success

VAIL, Colo. - A major energy gathering wrapped up in Vail Sunday.

The Vail Global Energy Forum featured noted speakers, such as Gov. John Hickenlooper, who gave the keynote speech and emphasized the promises and challenges of an energy economy.

A project of the Vail Valley Foundation, the two-day event is now in its third year.

Officials say this forum is a way to connect leaders from a wide range of backgrounds to discuss our country’s critical energy issues.

"This country invested about five or six billion dollars over eight years, trying to transform horizontal drilling and fracking into a useful technology. They were wildly successful," said Hickenlooper.

Topics included energy efficiency, energy innovation and natural gas, among others.
