GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Grand Junction VA Medical Center received a generous donation from an anonymous person this week.
The donor provided $375,000 for the veterans at the local facility.
Out of the 152 VA Medical Centers across the country, Grand Junction is one of the few to receive a donation from the anonymous individual.
Grand Junction VA Public Relations Officer, Paul Sweeney, said the donor chose their location because of the faith and integrity of the staff, as well as the quality of service provided to Western Slope veterans.
Sweeney noted that the Center isn't sure what they will do with the funds yet.
"We're going to come up with a spend plan to make sure we spend money with the highest possible impact for our veterans," said Sweeney.
The donor did set some conditions for the use of the funds, such as prohibiting it from going towards any prior commitments or any specific individual.
Still, the Center is confident they will put the donation to good use.
"We have a lot of special programs that are supported solely by donor funds, and for a few of them, this is going to be a great benefit."
