by KREX News Room
by Matt Kroschel

Price, UT Authorities in Utah are searching for two Western Slope men who vanished Saturday night near Price and have not been seen or heard from since. The Carbon County Sheriff told NewsChannel 5 Wednesday afternoon his deputies are searching an area known as the Nine Mile Canyon. The area is under major construction and oil and natural gas development, he said. It is about 55 minutes east of the city of Price.

The family of Brian Axe and Mark Widegren tell NewsChannel 5 the men were working on a natural gas pipeline project in the area. Saturday night they went to Price to watch football at a local bar, paid their bill around 11:30 PM, and have not been heard from since.

The sheriff said they do not suspect foul play, but are investigating this as a missing persons case.

If you have any information about this case call the sheriff at (435) 636-3251.

If you would like to volunteer in the search you can contact Diana Woolery at 970-216-7281 or Stephanie Axe at 970-712-3295.

My thoughts and prayers are with all involved. My little brother is friends with Brian and I think I went to school with Mark's brother. Hope they return home safely and soon
