Your weekly look at what's coming up at the Colorado Legislature beginning March 11:

GUN CONTROL

Gun violence continues to dominate lawmakers' attention. Two of the most divisive proposals from Democrats - expanded background-check requirements and limits on ammunition magazines - face final votes in the Senate after surviving marathon debates last week. Both proposals have already passed the House.

CIVIL UNIONS

A measure expanding legal recognition for same-sex couples could be on the governor's desk by the end of the week after an expected final House vote on the measure.

FIREFIGHTERS-UNIONS

A labor bill overriding local decisions on whether firefighting departments can form unions faces a big House committee Wednesday. The bill is similar to a measure vetoed by former Gov. Bill Ritter.

MARIJUANA

Marijuana regulation has been debated for months, and now the Legislature has to start making decisions on how the drug should be grown, sold and taxed. A new committee of House and Senate members has been appointed to start work crafting rules. The committee could start work this week.

WILDFIRES

The overhaul of how state-prescribed fires are managed cleared the Senate with no controversy. The House starts work Tuesday on the changes, inspired by last March's deadly fire in the foothills west of Denver.
