GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels have arrived for the West Star Aviation air show that begins Friday.

Seven planes from the Blue Angels were practicing on Thursday.

Members of the Blue Angels say the maneuvers they perform in the sky are taught to all naval aviators, except the Blue Angels fly closer.

One Blue Angel who's from Grand Junction says he's excited to be back in his hometown. "It's nice to get back to where you came from and give back to the community. Just to be able to show people whom I know and grew up with a little bit about what I do is great," said Todd Tubach.

The Blue Angels say the show will go on for about 40 minutes.

A huge plane named Fat Albert that skyrockets into the sky will perform at the end for about 10 minutes.

The air show will be held at the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

Gates open Friday at 6 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday the gates open up at 9 a.m.

16 trillion dollars in debt, fuel prices are very high, how bad does it have to get before we stop unnecessary spending? Stop military air shows and while we are at it, turn off NASA.
