MESA COUNTY, Colo.- One child has been transported to a hospital in Denver, while the investigation into another child's death continues.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, authorities got a call at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday about two children seen in a car off of Powderhorn Road.

When sheriff's officials arrived on scene, they found two young children in the car located on Powderhorn Road just off of Highway 65 on the Grand Mesa.

Officials say one child was found deceased in the car.

Meanwhile, a 4-year-old boy was transported to Children's Hospital of Denver overnight, after originally being flown to St. Mary's Hospital by CareFlight.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office worked overnight on the case and continue its investigation Wednesday.

Until a full autopsy report is released, the cause and manner of death will not be released.
