Man Arrested in Wife's Stabbing

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A man has been arrested for stabbing his wife.

Jesus Villarruel, 40, is behind bars for first-degree assault after his wife told police he stabbed her in the head.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, it happened at 1715 Glenwood Ave. just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found bleeding heavily from her head, with what authorities say were stab wounds.

She was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Villarruel was found shortly after near 16th Street and North Avenue with blood on his clothes; he was arrested on scene.

Witnesses also claim Villarruel assaulted his wife.
