Apparent Homicide-Suicide in El Jebel

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo.- Eagle County authorities have released the names of two people who died in an apparent homicide-suicide Saturday in an El Jebel neighborhood.

Sheriff's officials say 68-year-old Andrew Mazeika and his wife, 54-year-old Judi Mazeika, were involved in the incident.

Officials told NewsChannel 5 that detectives with the Eagle County Sheriff's Office don't believe a third party was involved.

Sheriff's deputies responded to shots fired at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at a home on Vega Drive in the Missouri Heights area of El Jebel.

Judi Mazeika was pronounced dead at the scene and Andrew Mazeika was hospitalized and later died.

Both appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds.
