ID Released For Body Found at Monument; Death Ruled As Homicide
FRUITA, Colo. - Mesa County officials are ruling the manner of death for a woman found dead on the Colorado National Monument as a homicide. The Mesa County Coroner's Office has completed an examination of 49-year-old Kathy Fortner of Grand Junction, whose body was found by tourists on Tuesday near the sign at the Fruita entrance of the Monument. Officials say the cause of Fortner's death was blunt force injuries to the head; the manner of death is a homicide. Click here for the original report.
