GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A two car collision temporarily shuts down a downtown Grand Junction intersection.

Grand Junction Police responded to a two vehicle accident around 9:00 p.m. Friday night at north 12th Street and Grand Avenue.

According to GJPD, an 89-year old woman was heading westbound on 12th Street with her headlights off, when a 31-year old male was trying to turn onto Grand Avenue and ended up crashing into the woman's vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor with the woman driver.

Have the roads changed? 12th runs north and south, not east and west.
