DELTA COUNTY, Colo.- The man who allegedly killed his estranged wife in 2011 will soon be heading to trial.

Jury reporting began Friday in the case against Paonia resident Nathan Yager, who is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Melinda Tackett Yager.

Tackett Yager's body was found near railroad tracks in January 2011.

According to the Montrose Daily Press, the couple had been going through a bitter divorce and custody battle.

Yager has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Jury selection is set to begin Tuesday; the trial will begin immediately after.

Yes, I am. Shocked. Known him for many years and if you really knew the whole story, the word "provocation" fits right in. Of course from the sounds of your post, you'll probably have to look that up. Good luck to ya.

By reason of insanity? Really? Is anyone who went to Hotchkiss and knew him surprised? Actually I am surprised it took this long for him to go off the deep end.
