Tree Falls on Power Line, Knocks Out Power to Area

FRUITA, Colo.- NewsChannel 5 has received reports that a tree has fallen on a power line at 1361 18 1/2 Road in Fruita.

It happened around 9 a.m.

Grand Valley Power responded to the scene, as well as the Lower Valley Fire Department.

Mesa County Road and Bridge was also on the scene to clear the tree from the road.

Some homes are being affected by a power outage due to the downed power line, from M Road on 18 1/2 Road to the Saddle Ridge subdivision and Auburne subdivision.

Crews are working to remove the tree from the road and restore power to the area.
