GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A train hit a car overnight, but thankfully no one was inside it.

It happened just before 3 a.m. Friday just south of the Fifth Street bridge near Highway 50.

Officials say the car was stopped at the tracks, but it was empty at the time.

There's no word on why the car was there.

No other injuries were reported.
