Thousands of Jurors Could be Summoned for Holmes Trial
CENTENNIAL, Colo.- The case against alleged Colorado theater shooting suspect, James Holmes, is inching closer to jury selection. Judge Carlos A. Samour Jr. says up to 3,500 jurors could be called for duty. Once summoned, jurors will have to fill out a questionnaire before being questioned by lawyers. James Holmes is scheduled to go on trial in February on more than 160 counts of murder and attempted murder. He's accused of planning and executing an assault on a packed movie theater in a Denver suburb in July, killing 12 and injuring 70. He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and will undergo a mental evaluation at the state hospital before trial. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
