COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Homeowners living in the Black Forest Wildfire burn area are finding out the danger to their homes has not extinguished with the dousing of the fire.
Police have already been called to one storage facility break-in where fire evacuees had their belongings stolen.
Homeowner Steve Earl says a neighbor told him there were people picking through the debris of where his house once stood.
"We actually had to stay one night. I actually had to get my paint gun, anything I could do to protect us or mark up their vehicles if I had to or get a picture of their license plate," says Earl.
So far, two people have been arrested and charged with looting.
23-year-old Dominique Smith and 26-year-old Phillip Madden have been charged with trespassing and theft.
Earl calls the looters, "soul-less."
