by KREX News Room
by Amanda Brandeis

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The 2012 Liberty/Tea Party Rally was held in Grand Junction Friday. Speakers from all over the country stopped in to voice their opinions.

The Western Slope Conservative Alliance organized the event. One guest who spoke was Victoria Jackson, a Saturday Night Live alumni and conservative comedian. Niger Innis also talked to the community; he is a guest commentator for CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. Sunny Roseman, a conservative radio host from Denver, also spoke.

Also at the event were informational booths and several conservative organizations.

Richard Hawthorne, a Tea Party member, said, "We want to put this country back on a constitutional basis freedom, individual responsibility, what the founding fathers wanted."

The event was held at Lincoln Park.

Actual head count at this event was somewhere just over 150 people. They were expecting 1000. This was a complete sham, fake, Astroturf “tea party” brought to you by the Republican Party through their surrogate group Western Slope Conservative Alliance. Buyer beware. American Patriot, co-founder (GJResult/Tea Party)

Why did the reporter FALSELY claim that Tisha Casida attended this non-event when she was actually in Denver at the time? If the reporter needs to remember which of the liars gave ger provable FALSE information. By the way, the ORIGINAL TEA Party event, completely organized and funded by the founder of GJResult Tea Party drew OVER 3000 People. The republican party and shill group (wsca) in Mesa County can barely scrape up 150? nobody else wants to be associated with the losers of the Valley?

I am sure people watching sports events tonight around town may of had why the attendance was low...Whoever didn't make it missed out on great speakers...

AmericanPatriot. said on Friday, May 4 at 9:26 PM

Oh PLEEEEESSSSSEEEE! Great Speakers? Like who Tipton? What a joke for him to call himself Tea Party. He voted to advance NDAA, and the bill that restricts your right to peacefully assemble. We were better off with Salazar. At least he wasn’t ethically challenged. Tipton’s so weak that children kick beach sand on him. Vote Tisha Casida, Independent, CD3. Ask yourself, why did they pretend she was at that fake Tea Party?

Sponsored by WSCA, the Repbulican Party, and the Koch Brothers. All "grass roots" right? Guess if they say so it must be, after all they think they own the county lock stock and barrel. Good conservatives with real values and principles. US Congressman with his hand in the cookie jar, state Congressman selling out to the gambling industry, and state Senator pushing for bills to enrich lawyers. What more could we want?

I stopped by incognito, just to get a head count and see who was there. I circled the "party" very slowly and systematically, counting from four different sides. I and the person with me averaged our counts. There was never more than 160 people there at any one time. I was there from 4:00PM until 6:00. I saw only ONE yellow Gadsden Rattlesnake flag in the entire rally area. It seemed pathetic. I've helped organize successful REAL tea parties, that drew crowds of more than 3,000! This rally struck me as being a sham, in spite of hiring professional entertainers. I believe the WSCA needs to work in their own field of expertize, which is vetting and supporting their mainstream Republican candidates, and leave organizing Patriotic Tea Parties to the REAL grass roots organizations like GJResults Tea Party. If the WSCA really were a REAL tea party, they would take their RINO candidates like Scott Tipton, and "hold his feet to the fire"! Have you seen this guy's voting record?

Sponsored by the Koch Bros? Who’d a thunk? Would that be David Koch who supports Gay Marriage (David Koch Wikipedia)? Would that be the same David Koch who is the chairman of American’s for Prosperity (one of the co-sponsors of the fake Tea Party)? How embarrassing for all those Republicans present. Check it out!

Why did the station report Tisha Casida being their on the 5:00 report, but dropped it without a comment at 6 and 10? If she wasn't there, and the station presented false information as fact, wouldn't the station owe the Lady a public apology at the very least? Connecting her name to this bunch of misfit losers is disgusting at best and we won't go to "worst".

This is not a sham. These are real people who really care about this country (whether there was 160 or 1000 people in the park). Why is it that some of the comments lecture about about freedom and what's right, but slams others who want a country they, too, can be proud of. Are they suppose to just follow hate-filled commentators' version of freedom which would be "believe the way I do or else!" We all live here and we care about our families, communities and country. That's why people showed up last night. Why isn't that enough without some of the comments being so hate-filled.

And this was more of a sham than your occupy move ment where four showed up?

J J said on Saturday, May 5 at 7:06 AM

While I was there observing an accurate head count of 160, I stopped in to see a Patriot friend of mine, who was selling Patriotic T shirts at HIS booth (Obama, the Lyin' King). He is supporting Tisha Casida, the INDEPENDENT Candidate running against the RINO Tipton, and the "peeing in public King," Democrat Sal Pace. He had pamphlets and brochures of Casida's, that were available at his table. That is as close as Tisha Casida ever got to being at the WSCA's "Tea Party"! She is the Ron Paul endorsed Freedom Candidate from the Independent American Party, running AGAINST the WSCA endorsed Tipton, and the Democrat's Public Urination King, Sal Pace. Hope this clears up things for those of you that were confused by all of the hoopla stirred up by the WSCA's attempt at "Tea Partying" for their RINO in the Third Congressional District race for U S Representative....

Enough, why is it not enough for Republicans to be Republicans? Why do they have to masquerade as a TEA Party? The answer to that is simple; how do you hold your bosses feet to the fire? Both the Repub and Dem Party are the reason this country is so screwed up with a 16 trillion $ plus debt hanging like a millstone around our Grandchildren’s necks. Neither party can run on their record so they engage in the blame game and resort to identity theft. Anyone can call themselves Tea Party. It’s the values and principles that separate the real Tea Party from the Repub/Americans for Prosperity(read Koch Bros)/WSCA wannabes. But why take my word for it? Here’s what the Repub nominee for Governor had to say about WSCA . “The WSCA (“a shill group”) was a GOP elephant in rhino clothes that did not fit very well, they put on a good show but the locals knew what it was all about”. (Running Without Cowboy Boots by Gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes, pg 99). That’s Why!

How many of the non-vendor participants had to be bused in to make a showing? Why do Ron Paul supporters show up voluntarily and do not need to be paid and bused in? How much Republican donor money is being used to deny Ron Paul the national media attention? WHY is the republican party, both national and local trying to LIMIT YOUR CHOICES to their anointed picks? The GJResult Tea Party demands VOTER CHOICES while the shill group DEMANDS NO CHOICE to the voters?

AmericanPatriot. said on Saturday, May 5 at 12:06 PM

Remember when Scott McInnis went on Fox news and declared himself to be Co’s tea party candidate? How’d that work out for him? Now Scott Tipton is doing the same thing and using the same Repub shill group to validate his claim, except that the people aren’t buying. And all the Repub Party is creating is a huge Conservative voter backlash, but maybe they need to lose a few more elections and have to petition on the ballot as a minority party before they realize what they’re creating with their Tea Party identity theft is a PR nightmare. Make a wish Republicans.
