GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Several chefs fired up their grills early for a preview of the upcoming Girl Scouts Cocktails and Cookie Creations event.
Friday's taste tester gave officials the chance to get to know each of the cooks' creations and pair the correct wine to each dish.
Several restaurants from around the valley sport a little friendly competition each year for the fundraiser.
"It's fun to see the other chefs with the friendly competition just pushing each other," said Christopher Allen Boyd, owner and chef at No Coast Sushi.
"It's about what we can do for the community itself and the Girl Scouts of America," added Jonathan Rashleigh, owner and chef with Craving.
Chefs draw the Girl Scout Cookie they will work with and are challenged to create a savory dish with the sweet treat.
This adult-only event is being held at the Two Rivers Winery on April 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Grand Junction Girl Scouts office. For more information, call 628-8003.
All proceeds go directly to Western Slope Girl Scout programs.
