Suspicious Death of Clifton Woman

CLIFTON, Colo.- The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Clifton woman.

On Monday morning investigators were seen coming in and out of the house located at 292 Second St.

Officials confirmed with NewsChannel 5 that the victim is an adult female and that her death is being considered suspicious. However, a judge has sealed all other details at this time.

NewsChannel 5 spoke with neighbors in the area. They say a white male lives in the house and his ex-wife was in town for the weekend. Another witness believed it was his girlfriend.

The next door neighbor recalls seeing police at 2:30 a.m. Jose Ruaz Alvarez said, "I looked outside and there were about six cop cars out here. I didn't come out to see what was going on, but it was pretty crazy."
