MESA COUNTY, Colo. - Two days following a police chase and fatal shooting on Interstate 70 near the Utah border, the deceased suspect has been identified.

The Coroner's Office has ruled Payne's cause of death as multiple gun shot wounds.
The incident started late Tuesday night in Lakewood, Colo. when Payne was suspected of attempting to sexually assault a woman in a Target parking lot.

According to officials, Payne then got out of the crashed vehicle and pointed a gun at authorities. This promoted SWAT crew members to open fire and kill Payne on the scene.
