GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of Burger King on North Ave.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, 22-year-old Deone Tyrone Patterson was arrested early Wednesday morning.

Patterson was found near 29 3/8 Rd. and Bunting Ave. with a gym bag containing money in similar denominations to the cash stolen from the restaurant Tuesday night.

Police say around 8 p.m. Tuesday night, a man walked into the Burger King and demanded money.

No customers were believed to be inside the restaurant at the time, but there were four employees who were forced inside one of the coolers.

The suspect fled on foot with some of the money from the restaurant.

The same Burger King was robbed this past November, causing officials to reopen that case again.

“Anytime we have a crime like this we look at old cases that haven’t been solved to see if there are any possible connections,” said Kate Porras of the Grand Junction Police Department. “So we will begin to look at those types of things because it is the same restaurant, but we haven't made any definite connections at this point.”

Again, a suspect, Deone Tyrone Patterson, has been arrested. He's facing charges of first degree kidnapping, aggravated robbery, felony menacing and theft.

Authorities are still investigating this case, and if you have any information please call 970-242-6707.
