GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - One suspect is in custody after allegedly stealing a car and leaving it on train tracks to collide with a train.

Officials with the Grand Junction Police Department say the man stole a vehicle from the parking lot of Infinity Night Club in the early morning hours of Saturday.

He allegedly drove it along the train tracks near 28 Road and I-70 B, which is where the vehicle was run over by an on-coming train.

Authorities say the suspect was not in the vehicle at the time.

After some searching, Mesa County Sheriff's deputies arrested 27-year-old David Goebel, whom they found near the crash site with the keys to the vehicle.

Authorities suspect alcohol to be a factor in the crash, however it is still under investigation.
