State Jobless Rate Drops for January

DENVER - Colorado's unemployment rate dropped in January, that's news from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The report says the state's unemployment rate dropped to 7.3 percent in January from December's 7.6 percent.

Employers in Colorado added 7,100 nonfarm payroll jobs from December to January. That totaled 2.3 million jobs, according to a survey of businesses.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate increased to 7.9 percent over the same period.
