by KREX News Room

DENVER (AP)- State health officials say more than 200 people in Colorado have been hospitalized with the flu so far this year, and the illness has already claimed the lives of two young children.

Health officials said that both children were under age 3 and died between mid-November and mid-December.

The health department says that statewide, 244 people from 22 counties have been hospitalized with the flu this season, compared to only 32 people hospitalized by Dec. 24 last year.
