GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Startek, an expanding Grand Valley business, held its first of six hiring events on Friday.

The technologically-based customer service company says its looking to fill 90 jobs by January 3, 2013. Representatives at the company also hope to fill up to 120 positions by mid-January.

They say Friday's event was a strong step toward that goal. "Today's event has been going really well. We've had 24 people come in just today alone. We've gotten tons of applications, lots of testing done and a great deal of interest from the community," explained Brooke Sinclair, human resources coordinator with Startek.

The company attributes it's booming expansion on demand in the valley in the past several years. Startek has filled more than 400 jobs so far in 2012.

The company's next hiring event will be on Dec. 5. Location and time are to be determined.

To find out more about the next event, call Startek at 263-7700.

You know, StarTek would be able to have more employees if there wasn't people in the recruiting office who were liars and keeping applicants from getting a job there. I applied, my application was withdrawn, I talked to one of the recruiting officers, that recruiting officer says she never spoke with me. To me this company is nothing but a joke. Just makes me wonder how many other people they have done this to. They say they work with school schedules, they don't. They changed a friend of mines training schedule knowing he was in school and he quit. This company is horrible!

StarTek did the same to me. They knew I was going to school and when I needed to change things up for my schedule, they told me I was rehirable. I had no problems, no write ups, no coachings, nothing. They said as soon as I was ready to come back they would let me. Now Im being turned down for a job there. I did the same and spoke with the Recruiting officer (she is a big joke and a disgrace to the company) She just turned the other way. And yet they hire people that HATE the job, go to another, and then return to Startek mutiple times over. They say they are an "equal opportunity", THEY ARE DEFINITLEY LIARS!!!!
