MESA COUNTY, Colo.- The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment released smoke health advisories on Thursday for parts of Mesa County as a result of smoke coming from the Pine Ridge Fire.

Health officials say if visibility is less than five miles in smoke, it may be at unhealthy levels.

If smoke is thick or becomes thick, officials urge residents to stay indoors. Those with heart disease, respiratory illness, as well as young people and the elderly are especially urged to use caution.

In addition, if smoke is present indoors, officials recommend that residents consider temporary relocation.
