AURORA, Colo.- A pilot was seriously hurt when his small plane crashed in a field in Aurora.

It happened at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday in a field in southeast Aurora.

An experimental aircraft, built to look like a World War I fighter plane, went down.

Neighbors said they had seen the plane flying in the area on a regular basis and the pilot would do aerial stunts.

Investigators are trying to piece together what happened.

The pilot was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
