Ski Resorts Prepare to Open for Season

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- Now that the Grand Valley has seen its first measurable snow, it's just a matter of time before all ski resorts are open.

Powderhorn Resort received about 18 inches of snow on Saturday and is working on making more snow for the planned opening on Dec. 13.

Aspen Skiing Company plans on opening Snowmass and Aspen Mountain on Nov. 22.

Aspen Highlands is scheduled to open Dec. 8, and Buttermilk is set for Dec. 15.

Opening day for Sunlight Mountain Resort is Dec. 7.
