GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a bullet came through the wall in one of the rooms at Mesa Inn on Horizon Drive.

Zachariah McCullough, 26, is facing charges of reckless endangerment, assault, prohibited use of a weapon and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Around 9 p.m. Sunday Grand Junction police responded to the Mesa Inn on Horizon Drive after receiving reports that a man was shot in his hotel room.

The victim said he was in his room when he heard a loud bang and felt that he had been hit with shrapnel.

Officers found a large hole in the wall and discovered that McCullough was in a adjacent room handling a large revolver; it went off and the bullet went through the wall.

The victim's shoulder wound was treated at the hospital and he was released with minor injuries.

What an idiot. Too bad he wasn't looking down the barrel when it went off.
