Shopping with a Sweet Tooth

by KREX News Room

PALISADE, Colo. Grand Valley residents headed to Palisade to shop and satisfy their sweet tooth at the same time. Seven merchants participated at the annual Art and Chocolate Walk.

While people shopped for fine art, gourmet foods, toys, jewelry and more, they also enjoyed different chocolates at each business.

As they hopped from location to location, participants were entered to win a big basket full of art and chocolate!

Kay Crane, the director of The Blue Pig Gallery, said, "Sort of the official beginning of the shopping season. And this is Small Business Saturday too, so it's even more perfect this year. You know, shop locally and come to Palisade and just get a taste of small town."

For the first time ever this year, a speed painting for health fundraiser was held during the walk. Donations raised will benefit local resident Zachariah Walker in his quest to overcome leukemia.
