GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The holiday gifts have been unwrapped leaving many people with new money, and gift cards to use up. So, residents hit the town to get a bigger bang for the buck.

"To see if there is any good bargains," said Susan White, resident.

"Because they are sales everywhere," said Hadley Schmueser.

Officials say some of the sales are as good as Black Friday sales, minus the large crowds.

"Target, Sears, no we didn't go to Sears, all the kids stores. We hit about all of them," said White and Elena Kerr, residents.

Residents found items for less than a dollar.

"Just 50 cents," said White and Kerr.

Shoppers said they're getting ready for New Years and stocking up on cheap Christmas items for next year.

"I've been spending money," said White.

"Don't tell my husband I was out shopping," said Kerr.
