Black Friday: Not So Black and White Anymore

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Black Friday shopping isn't exactly what it used to be. Shopping online gives customers a different way to get their goods, and each year, businesses continue to find new ways to bring in customers.

While some prepare for Thanksgiving dinner days in advance, others are strategizing for Black Friday.

When asked if he sleeps on Black Friday, shopper Rick Ross said, "No, it's too much of an adrenaline rush! I'll go to Walmart, hit Target and then I'll probably hit 5 a.m Cabellas."

First time Black Friday shopper Mark Johsnon, said, "I'm excited, you know, I'm ready to game!"

However, Black Friday shopping is evolving. While shopping online isn't a new phenomenon, stores are finding new ways to entice shoppers, giving them Black Friday deals before Black Friday.

Linda Lorase, another holiday shopper, said, "Depends on what the deals are in store compared to shipping costs and stuff like that. For little ones, cost is all."

Joshua Jenkins, who's shopping around for electronics, said, "I've checked out Best Buy, Walmart, just all the electronic stores in town."

Free shipping is one online incentive, and giving customers some cash back is another.

Stacey Dillard, who got in line at Best Buy at 1 a.m on Thanksgiving, said, "We're looking for TVs and amazon.com was a lot of it, and ended up finding a better deal here at Best Buy."

Even if it's inconvenient, getting the best price on items is keeping traditions like camping out for deals alive.

"Just the prices of things these days, it's so expensive, so it's worth coming out here and spending the time to save some money," Dillard said.

"Get as many electronics as I can get for as cheap as possible!" said Jenkins.

While Black Friday shopping changes over the years, the target remains the same, get as much as you can for as little as you can, game on.
