Seniors Honored at Luncheon for Academic Excellence

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.- Each spring, as high school seniors prepare to graduate, the School District 51 superintendent honors students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher.

On Monday, 116 seniors were recognized at a luncheon hosted by Superintendent Steven Schultz.

Honorees were from Central High School, Fruita Monument High School, and Grand Junction High School, along with students who are home-schooled.

Many of the high school seniors are pursuing higher education next year at a variety of colleges around the country, while a few say they have decided to take a year off before continuing on with their education.

The luncheon was held at Two Rivers Convention Center with Dave and Morgan Hansow, co-founders of Light Gives Heat, as the keynote speakers.
