Self Repair Shop Opens in Grand Junction
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A repair business that's the first of its kind in Grand Junction is gearing up for its big opening next week. The U-Fix-It Garage allows a safe space for people to work on their cars, providing a cost efficient alternative to professional auto repairs. "You can do it in your driveway, this is a much safer alternative and it's a whole lot faster. You don't have to use jacks and stands, you just raise [the car] up, get a drain under here and you're done. It's a whole lot quicker and whole lot more simple," said Glen Nickerson, the owner of U-Fix-It. The idea is pretty simple. Customers can pull into the garage, rent a bay, use a variety of tools and get to work on your vehicle. "Most of your mechanics are $100 plus an hour now, so by doing it yourself you're cutting out that $100. It's a lot better to rent a bay for $35 an hour and do it yourself," said Nickerson. The officials grand opening for the garage is set for August 1, although the facility is open and accepting appointments. U-Fix-It Garage is located at 2757 Highway 50, you can reach them at 970-243-0966.
