GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A volunteer service that helps save lives, along with many other things, received a large donation Saturday.

The Mesa County Search and Rescue ground team received a total of $2,000 total Saturday, from Citadel Security and Investigation.

Citadel has been giving money to the local volunteer organization for the past three years for all the good they do throughout the community.

"It's a cause that's kind of near and dear to my heart. As an outdoorsman, they do a great job for our community. They're available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They sacrifice a lot to get
out there, and it's nice to give them some money to get some good equipment," said Brent Jagger, vice president of Citadel Security and Investigation.

"It helps us to better ourselves in trainings to help the public when they're in need," said Doug Sieckert, volunteer for the Mesa County Search and Rescue ground team.

The volunteer organization says they're always in need of new equipment and constantly learning new skills to allow them to succeed in helping out those in need.
