Schools On Lock Down After Passerby Sees Gun

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Several Grand Junction schools went into lock down this afternoon following reports of a teenage waving a gun near West Middle School.

Officials say around 2:45 p.m. a passerby called authorities saying they saw an 18-year old with a gun near First Street and Orchard Avenue, causing West Middle School to go on a precautionary lock down.

Grand Junction High School and the Jewish Community Center were also placed on lock down for about 20 minutes while police searched the area.

Police were not able to find anyone matching the description given, or anyone with a gun.
