GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- It's that time of year again to stuff the bus, and School District 51needs help kicking off the school year right.

With school just around the corner, many schools are asking for help in providing school supplies.

A school bus located inside Mesa Mall, is where people are encouraged to throw some supplies in through the windows.

Officials say some of the most needed items include pens and pencils, markers, notebooks, scissors, and glue. "What we do is we have different boxes for each school and a representative from that school will come and pick up the box of school supplies for their school, and then will pass the boxes out to each grade level that needs it the most," said Roxy with 104.3.

The bus is located next to American Eagle until Thursday, August 16.

Officials say they gathered around 18,00 items last year, and are looking to do the same or double that this year.

Thus far, Roxy says the school bus is about 50 percent full.
