School Bus Flips on Side, No Children Inside

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Tuesday morning’s snowfall caused for some slick and dangerous roads, and one school bus even ended up on it's side.

Around 9 a.m., a First Student bus traveling westbound on Highway 50 rolled and landed onto its side at mile marker 53. This is right by the Mesa County and Delta County boarder.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the bus driver and another adult passenger were rushed to the hospital with what seemed to be non-life threatening injuries.

No children were on the bus at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident is being investigated at this time but it's believed to be weather related.

why after all there years, do we not have seatbelts in the bus for students? The driver wears one, so why can't the children.Case in point, if there were students on this bus, the chance of injury would be decreased tremendously if they were wearing one.

Saw this guy going north while on our way to Montrose this morning. Going WAY too fast for conditions. Not surprised by this outcome. Very glad this idiot had no kids on the bus.

Dear wondering, Google and the internet are great resources for a person who asks a dumb question to find intelligent and resourceful facts regarding seatbelts and WHY they are not installed on buses. Just sayin'
