Schlotzsky's Deli Open for Business

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- After a long summer for Schlotzsky's owners and employees, the deli is back up and running.

After being damaged from a fire that started in June as the result of a former employee's cigarette, Schlotzsky's Deli's owners say they've had to replace much of the drive-through, kitchen, register and credit card machines.

Everyone was laid off of work all summer, which left some of their employees stranded looking for some extra money.

"I feel so much better about myself, things I can do; I can go out to eat with my girlfriend and take her to movies, pay gas and car insurance," said Sean Sculley, an employee.

"I'm pretty excited about it; of course it's really pretty boring to not have a job," said Rachel Kolb, owner of Schlotzsky's Deli.

All the employees are back working except for the one who had the lit cigarette.

Owners say all their prices are the same, and they now have a new honey chipotle for customers to try out.
