SWAT Standoff Suspect Charged in Court

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The man accused of being behind a SWAT standoff in a Riverside neighborhood heard the charges filed against him Thursday.

Chad Walker Evans, 23, was handed a list of felony charges that included everything from ID theft to robbery.

Evans was arrested last week. He's accused of breaking into a woman's home on Little Park Road ,where he was found by the homeowner.

Evans is also accused of stealing her car and various weapons from her home.

He reportedly hid out at an abandoned building, and that's where the standoff occurred.
