GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Saturday, runners, walkers and rollers supported local children with disabilities and their families at the third annual Rollin' on the River event.
People of all ages and even some furry pets were in attendance. Besides walking and running, participants were able to play games, paint pumpkins and eat some free food.
STRIVE organizers say the event is a way to help support the children they take care of in the Grand Valley.
"This event is so important because it helps support our early childhood intervention and those supports are so huge and so beneficial to the individuals, that we support about 226 children in that endeavor and this events helps fund that,” said STRIVE Director Doug Sorter.
Organizers say there were more than 300 participants in attendance.
