LAKEWOOD, Colo.- The Republican vice presidential nominee, Paul Ryan, campaigned in Lakewood Tuesday.

Lakewood High School's gymnasium was filled with hundreds of people waiting to see Mitt Romney's running mate.

The Wisconsin congressman appeared on a stage backed by an enormous American flag.

Ryan accused President Barack Obama of running a negative campaign and criticized his energy policies.

When speaking about Obama, Ryan said, "He has ten different agencies and four executive offices regulating regulating hydraulic fracturing. We think Colorado knows how to take care of this themselves. We want you to be in charge," explained Ryan.

Romney publicly praised Ryan's work as being necessary to protect the long-term survival of Medicare.
