GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - One health care provider says that some of their Western Slope customers are getting suspicious calls from people claiming to be Medicare representatives.

Rocky Mountain Health Plan says that starting Wednesday, they've received multiple reports from Grand junction and Clifton customers, saying they're getting targeted for a scam.

Apparently, fake Medicare representatives with foreign accents are calling customers, saying they need to send out new Medicare cards.

The scammer then asks for personal information including an address and bank accounts.

One member reported a call coming from the number 409-574-1214, others with area codes in the 400s have been reported as well.

Rocky Mountain Health Plan members are being asked to ignore these calls and refrain from giving out any personal information.

The only scam that it's members have is the continous double digit premium increases year after year.

A company that weighs and measures it's employees like cattle under the threat of their insurance rates tripling has a HIPAA violation? I am shocked and dismayed! Sure is a shame that the privacy of the members has been compromised. Caveat Emptor!
