Ridgway Boy Attacked, Then Drowned

RIDGWAY, Colo. - Officials say a 2-year old boy from Western Colorado was killed by his babysitter's ex-boyfriend at a vacation home in Mexico.

In a statement provided today, the Charrette family of Ridgway says, while they were out of the house, the babysitter let her boyfriend inside before realizing he was violent and possibly on drugs.

According to the statement, the babysitter locker herself inside a bathroom out of fear leaving Axel Charrette and his 7-year old brother alone.

A family spokesman says the ex-boyfriend attacked the 2-year old and threw him in the pool to drown.

The prosecutor's office in the state of Nayarit says the man has been arrested and charged with rape and murder in the February 28th attack.

Prosecutors say the babysitter has been charged with homicide for failing to stop the attack and lying about it to medical personnel.

effing ridiculous, sick sick people these days. Hope he gets whats coming to him. my condolences to the family.
