GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and about 40 other individuals from the Grand Junction area are making their way to the State Capitol Thursday.

It's the groups 20th annual trip to the Capitol, where they'll work on building relationships with legislators and becoming more educated on several topics.

They'll talk with legislators about implementing Amendment 64, and they'll meet with the State Director of the Bureau of Land Management.

They say that some of these law makers are from the Front Range and Eastern Plains, whom they never get the chance to meet face-to-face.

"It gives us an opportunity to sit down and build a relationship with them so that when we have bills of interest to our business community here in Grand Junction; when we contact them they'll
know us and we think that makes a huge difference just building those relationships as we've been doing over the last 20 years," said Diane Schwenke, president of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce.

The group is leaving Thursday morning and will be back Friday night.

To attend, email Diane Schwenke at Diane@gjchamber.org. Schwenke says if residents are already in Denver and want to attend, that is also acceptable.
