Colorado Skiing Pioneer Remembered

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A Colorado skiing pioneer is being remembered this week.

Ed Lucks died on Friday at St. Mary's Hospital. He was 87 years old.

Lucks pioneered adaptive skiing techniques and equipment for the disabled. He was also a 2005 inductee into the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

A memorial service for Ed Lucks will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.

Donations may be sent to the charity of your choice, or to Challenge Aspen, P.O. Box 6639, Snowmass Village, CO 81615.

Ed was a fine man. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
